Toll prices on highways in the state of São Paulo were more than 10.72% to 11.73% more expensive as of 00:00 today (16). The increase, which can reach 12%, applies to the 18 concessionaires responsible for 50 highways in São Paulo. They are CCR Autoban, AB Colinas, Ecovias, Intervias, Renovias, CCR SPVias, Tebe, AB Triângulo do Sol, CCR ViaOeste, CART, Ecopistas, CCR RodoAnel, Rodovias do Tietê, Rota das Bandeiras, SPMar and ViaRondon and Tamoios and Entrevias.
According to the state government of São Paulo, most road concession contracts provided for an annual readjustment in July, but the state government postponed this increase in 2022 due to the scenario of a serious economic crisis, high inflation and escalating prices of essential items. – mainly caused by successive increases in fuel prices.
“The State clarifies that the review of tariffs could not be postponed any longer so as not to lead to the next administration costs assumed by the current government, which has always maintained intact its social and fiscal responsibility and is recognized for respecting its contracts. All amounts to be refunded to concessionaires are already being adjusted by the current management, which has worked to ensure that citizens have less impact on their pockets at the worst moment of the national economic crisis”, said the state government in a note.
The adjustment in toll rates was authorized by the Transport Agency of the State of São Paulo (Artesp).
