Climb Aconcagua: more than 1,800 climbers have already reserved a place

More than 1,800 climbers have already purchased tickets to try to summit Mount Aconcagua, the highest in Latin America, in Mendoza, whose season started on December 1st.

“The season in Aconcagua develops normally, with all services fully operational from the first day of opening, while the Reserve Visitor Center received more than 26,000 people and 1,800 climbers have already reserved the ticket to try to reach the summit”, reported from the Environment area.

The Aconcagua Provincial Park started its climbing season on December 1stand is located on national route 7, 185 kilometers from Mendoza capital, with an altitude of 6,962 meters above sea level.

“As every year, the Aconcagua season has a high quality of services, which we permanently monitor from the Directorate of Renewable Natural Resources to guarantee the use and enjoyment of visitors and climbers in the Provincial Park,” said the Secretary of the Environment, Humberto Mingorance.

As detailed, the property already has all the services in full operation since the opening of the season.

This, with a greater number of doctors attending to the various needs that arise, such as equipment, Park Ranger personnel, the Rescue Patrol, service providers and the High-altitude Helicopter Service.

“There are already more than 400 people who have been assisted and cared for by the Park’s medical professionals, who have more than 14 years of experience in the high-altitude service for the most part”expressed the director of Natural Resources, Sebastián Melchor.

In addition, the official explained that this season all the squares and camps have been enabled with the corresponding services and, among the great novelties, the Quebrada de Matienzo.

Another novelty is the implementation of a cardiosafe zone in the Visitor Center, which currently has an automatic external defibrillator (AED) and which is added to the already existing cardiosafe zone in Plaza de Mulas.

Various activities can be carried out in the park, depending on the season.

Each activity has its regulations and an entrance fee that depends on the nationality of the visitor, the type of permit and the entrance route (Valley or Quebrada).
