Codefat approves PIS/Pasep 2023 calendar

About 23 million people who worked with a formal contract in 2021 will be able to withdraw the salary bonus from February to July next year. The Deliberative Council of the Worker Support Fund (Codefat) approved today (15) the calendar of the Social Integration Program (PIS) and the Civil Servant Assets Formation Program (Pasep) in 2023.

According to Codefat, the 2023 wage bonus will be paid to 23.6 million workers across the country. Of this total, 21.4 million who work in the private sector will receive the PIS and 2.2 million public servants, state employees and the military are entitled to the Pasep.

As traditionally occurs, payments will be divided into six batches, based on the month of birth, in the case of the PIS, and on the final registration number, in the case of the Pasep. The money will be deposited on the release dates of the lots and can be withdrawn until December 28, 2023. After that period, it will be necessary to wait for a special call from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.

Workers enrolled in the PIS/Pasep for at least five years and who have formally worked for at least 30 days in the base year considered for the calculation are entitled to the benefit, with an average monthly remuneration of up to two minimum wages. It is also necessary that the data have been correctly informed by the employer in the Annual Social Information List (Rais).

The amount of the allowance is proportional to the period in which the employee worked with a formal contract in 2021. Each month worked is equivalent to a benefit of R$ 108.50, with periods equal to or greater than 15 days counted as a full month. Private initiative workers with a checking or savings account at Caixa will automatically receive credit at the bank, according to the month of their birth.

The other beneficiaries will receive the amounts through digital social savings, which can be moved through the Caixa Tem app. If it is not possible to open a digital account, withdrawals can be made using the Citizen’s Card and password at self-service terminals, lottery units, Caixa Aqui or branches, also according to the payment calendar staggered by month of birth.

The payment of the Pasep allowance is made via credit to an account for those who have an account or have savings at Banco do Brasil. Workers who are not account holders at BB can make transfers via TED to their account via self-service terminals and the portal www.bb.com.br/pasep or at the cash desk of branches, upon presentation of an official identity document.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Security reported that 407,222 workers have not yet withdrawn the 2020 salary bonus. Of this total, 123,409 correspond to the PIS; and 283,813, to Pasep.

R$ 364.9 million in benefits not withdrawn remain forgotten. Money can be withdrawn until December 29th. In this year, the deposits were made between February 8th and March 31st.

Until 2020, the salary bonus for the previous year was paid from July of the current year to June of the following year. In early 2021, Codefat complied with the recommendation of the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU) and started depositing the money only two years after work with a formal contract.
