An artisanal boat with presumed drugs inside was located, east of Guararé, Los Santos province, through a patrol by the National Aeronaval Service, in coordination with the Panama Aeronaval Operations Center (CROAN).
According to Major Franco Reyes, upon checking the vessel they were able to observe that it had a false bottom where they were probably transporting some illegal act.
Once the vessel was detained and after coordination with the Los Santos Drug Prosecutor’s Office, it was transferred to the Mensabé Naval Air Station for the pertinent search and search procedures, managing to account for a total of 300 packages of presumed illegal substances to be determined, the which were kept hidden in the structure of the boat.
Two people were traveling on the boat who were arrested and placed under the orders of the judicial authorities.
According to the National Aeronaval Service, from 2022 to date, through the execution of 126 operations, the total confiscation of 86,542 packages of illegal substances has been achieved.
