The hearing will take place after this Wednesday, the supreme judge of the preparatory investigation of the Supreme Court of Justice, Juan Carlos Checkley, decided to suspend the session after neither the former president Neither Castillo Terrones nor his defense will appear at said hearing.
After that, the former president will continue to be detained for a additional period (maximum 48 hours) at the Diroes headquarters until the Power of attorney resolve the request made by the Prosecutor’s Office against Pedro Castillo Terrones.
Last Tuesday, the Supreme Prosecutor Uriel Teranof the Second Supreme Criminal Prosecutor’s Office, requested the Supreme Court of Preparatory Investigation to issue 18 months of pretrial detention against Castillo Terrones and Torres Vasquez for the alleged crimes of rebellion and conspiracy in which they would have incurred in the Coup attempt.
As reported, the departure of the former president was scheduled for this Wednesday, December 14 at 12:42 p.m. However, by requesting his preventive detention, Pedro Castillo will remain in custody in the Diroes until his legal situation is determined.
Meanwhile, the lawyer for the former head of state, Raúl Noblecilla, presented a habeas corpus to request that the Power of attorney order the immediate release of Pedro Castillo. Also, the nullity of the vacancy process against him declared by Congress and return to office.
