Young Venezuelan victim of human trafficking was rescued in Colombia

In 20 days of August, three groups dedicated to human trafficking have been dismantled

The Center for Comprehensive Care for Victims of Sexual Abuse (Caivas) of Colombia assumed the investigation of the case of a minor of Venezuelan nationality who was a victim of human trafficking and abuse. The entity reported that it provides assistance and restoration of rights to the young woman


A 17-year-old Venezuelan girl was rescued in Medellín, Colombia, a victim of human trafficking. The minor was transferred from Caracas by Gregore Arnaldo Palomino Arellano, 44, who would have received a payment from a citizen identified as Hugo de Jesús Ramírez Gil, 60, for looking for a sentimental partner.

Palomino offered an economic package to the young woman for which the victim initially agreed to leave Caracas. According to the investigations, when the 60-year-old man arrived in Medellín, she would have kept her locked up and subjected to sexual activities.

While she was in the building, the victim became pregnant and suffered a miscarriage. Subsequently, she was abandoned on the street because she refused to have intimate relationships due to her delicate state of health. Apparently, in the midst of the violence, her alleged criminal would have infected her with a sexual disease, she reported The nation.

A guarantee control judge in Medellín, Colombia, sent two men to jail for the crime of sexual abuse; while the Center for Comprehensive Care for Victims of Sexual Abuse (Caivas) assumed the investigation, and coordinated the protocol for assistance and restoration of rights to the minor.
