An explosives operator from the Tren de Aragua criminal organization was killed in Táchira after confronting a commission from the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command (Conas), according to military sources. José Wuikenfil Villalobos Rojas (22), is the identity of the subject, who arrived in Venezuela in September fleeing Peru where he participated in an attack with explosives perpetrated against the police of that country.
This Monday afternoon, Villalobos was with other armed individuals in a sector of the Colón-Ureña highway, Pedro María Ureña municipality, Táchira’s border with Colombia.
The criminals began an exchange of shots with the military where Villalobos fell despondent.
At the scene of the scuffle, officials collected a Taurus .38 Special revolver and an offensive M26 hand grenade.
Upon returning to Venezuela, Villalobos joined a cell dedicated to kidnapping and extortion in the border area.

Security agencies carried out other operations against crime cells linked to the Aragua Train scattered in the central region. The organization is directed from the Aragua Judicial Confinement Center, according to data provided by the Prosecutor’s Office.
In the La Suiza sector, Guaicaipuro municipality (Los Teques), Miranda state, military agents seized a 16 shotgun, a Pietro Beretta 9 mm pistol, a .38 revolver and 10 cartridges, material that was in the possession of José Gregorio Rodríguez Unda, Kevin Oved Betancur, Juan José Martínez Hermoso and Edwin Antonio Panicide Perdomo.
And in the El Limón sector, Santa Teresa del Tuy (Miranda), the military seized 12 7.62×39 mm caliber cartridges destined for rifles, a radio transmitter and a balaclava, all of which was transported by Shirley Roxana Soto Gómez, a member of the cell Los Sanguinarios.
The detainees will be prosecuted for illegal possession of war material, among other crimes.
