More than 26 thousand people have taken advantage of the IDAAN exoneration plan “25×7 Pay and Save”

The “25×7 Pay and Save” plan implemented by the National Aqueducts and Sewers Institute (IDAAN) so that customers can pay with a 25% exemption on their delinquency for the water service has achieved that more than 26 thousand people take advantage of this plan to avoid the cut of the water service that this institution will implement as of January 2023.

In an interview with Radio Panamá, Jesús Arrocha, Commercial Director of IDAAN, gave details of how the institution with this plan to encourage the population to get up to date with the drinking water service and avoid the cut “Until today there have been subscribed 26,679 discounts with payments to the institution for 4.6 million dollars and with discounts of 1.5 million dollars, this makes a total amount of 6.1 million dollars, which is an important figure and we are sure that before the end of this plan the next December 31, many more people will take advantage of this incentive.

As of January 2023, the IDAAN plans a program of cuts for people who receive drinking water but do not pay for the service, it is estimated that the delinquency that clients maintain with the institution is around 100 million dollars.

“There are only a few days left until this 25×7 plan ends and that is why IDAAN will keep its offices open on December 31 until noon, giving that opportunity so that as many people as possible can take advantage of the plan, we also have the alternatives to offer them payment arrangements so that it can be used to get out of the default with a signed agreement and that it does not have the problem of facing the situation of the cuts as of January 2023 “said Arrocha

IDAAN had suspended all cutting activities in the midst of the pandemic as one of the measures taken by the national government and urges the population to catch up with their payment with the institution “We are aware that the service must be improved, we are working for that, but we also need customers to comply with their payment in order to have the necessary resources to improve the equipment, tools and fulfill the mission we have of bringing drinking water service to the population”, concluded Arrocha.
