Will is enjoying his stardom, but his early years were tough.

Will Powell, 13, who plays Prince Harry in the final season of “The Crown,” fulfilled the dream of many child actors by landing a role in the popular Netflix series about the British royal family.

However, the life of this boy from Halifax, in the north of England, has not been easy.

When I was one year and seven months he was diagnosed with leukemiaa cancer of the blood cells.

Over the next few years, he had to undergo 27 operations and spent a lot of time in the Sheffield Children’s Hospital, a nearby city.

His father, Andy, told the press about the incredible attitude that Will maintained during his years of treatment.

“Throughout the whole process he was a superstar. Our little son never complained, not once,” he recalled.

Andy also revealed how much his family was enjoying Will’s cast in the fifth season of the hit royal drama.

We did a marathon of the series until we saw all the scenes that Will is in,” he confessed.

his path to stardom

Will got the role of the second son of then-Prince and now King Charles and Diana Spencer -better known as Lady Di- almost by mistake.

His mother learned that the producers of “The Crown” had opened a casting call to find an actor to play Prince William, the couple’s eldest son (and heir to the throne).

But she told them that although she did not have a William, i could have a harry behind the scenes.

Andy recounted how the selection process went: “At first Will was asked to provide a tape of himself. First he was one of four finalists, then two, and finally had an interview with the casting director via Skype. Al The next day we received the news that he had been chosen”.

Andy described how his family lived “full of emotion” while eagerly awaiting the release of the series.

“The premiere was incredible,” he said. “They treated us like royalty. We mingled with the stars of stage and screen, and Will took it all in stride. He even signed the first autographs for him,” he revealed.

The family says they will never forget the excellent care Will received at Sheffield Children’s Hospital and will continue to support the institution for life.

Over the past five years, the family, along with a team of volunteers, have collected used Christmas trees, raising more than $54,000 for the hospital’s charity.

“It is very likely that without the unwavering determination and care of the people at Sheffield Children’s Hospital Will I will not be here to enjoy this amazing life experience,” said Andy.

“We as a family thank the team from the bottom of our hearts. They are an amazing group of people.”
