Two people were charged this Tuesday for the femicide of a 33-year-old woman occurred last December 7 in Jardines del Hipódromo (Montevideo). The victim was killed with 23 stab wounds.reported then The Observer.
A policeman was arrested for the crime; he had taken away his weapon for domestic violence, and had prohibition measures to approach the woman, but they had expired in November.
This Tuesday the Justice charged two more people, who are being investigated as hitmen, reported Telemundo (channel 12).
The woman was found in her house without clothes. About the 3 in the morning of that December 7, the couple called the police.
The victim’s partner, an official at the National Rehabilitation Institute (INR), said they were in the bathroom when they heard noises. He added that when he left he saw two men “struggling” with the woman and that when they saw him they ran away. He also reported the theft of some $40,000 that was “on top of the table.”
The victim was taken to a health center where he died.
