For hunting a nine-banded armadillo, three people were accused of crimes against the Environment and Territorial Planning, in the form of crimes against Wildlife.
These three citizens were called by the Pedasí Municipal Ombudsman for a guarantee control hearing.
The requests from the Public Prosecutor’s Office were accepted by the guarantee judge who granted a precautionary measure prohibiting access to places of refuge for wildlife, gallery forests and the Calabacito area, in the district of Pedasí, province of Los Santos.
After the legalization of the apprehension, the charges were made, once the binding elements were supported with the events that occurred on November 25, 2022, when police units apprehended the accused hunting a nine-banded armadillo, this being a species protected.
