This year, the notices for labor accidents reported to the Ministry of Labor increased. During 2022, 65,819 have been notified, according to the reports of the agency within its sector statistics section.
The figure exceeds those reported last year (just over 62,300) and those of 2020 (43,600), but is lower than those registered in 2019 (72,232). This year, 130 deaths directly related to work accidents have been reported.
June, with the notice of 6,766, was the month in which the most accidents were reported during 2022; in December there are already 21. Almost a third part corresponds to accidents on the way to work, while the rest happened in the workplace.
Among these types of accidents, the largest number are cases of exposure to inanimate mechanical forces
, with 20,548 this year, of which more than 8,000 were injured by blows with different objects. They are followed by falls, with 18 thousand 79, and those classified as excess force and travel
with 6,545. Next on this list are motorcyclists injured in transport tasks, with 4,505, and people with potential risks to their health, related to economic and psychosocial circumstances
with 3 thousand 168.
The largest number of victims this year are industrial machinery operators, assemblers and transport drivers (14,514), followed by others (13,810) classified as without division
and 11 thousand 438 dedicated to elementary and support activities

The officials, directors and bosses
They represent 1,258 of the 65,819 reports.
Article 474 of the Federal Labor Law establishes that occupational risks include accidents that occur when the worker moves directly from his home to the workplace. While it is the responsibility of the employer to prevent them, as well as the payment of compensation, it is also the obligation of the workers to observe the preventive safety and hygiene measures established by the Mexican official regulations and standards.
Workers who suffer a work risk will have the right to medical and surgical assistance, rehabilitation, hospitalization (when required), medicines and healing material, necessary prosthetic and orthopedic devices, and the compensation established in said legislation.
