Former player and current football executive Túlio Guerreiro is the interviewee of the program Uncensored this Monday (12). In the chat with presenter Marina Machado, he remembers the highlights of his career and talks about future projects. The show airs at 9pm on TV Brazil??
Túlio Lustosa Seixas Pinheiro, affectionately known as Túlio Guerreiro, was born in Brasília, in 1976. He started his career in professional football in 1995, as a right-back for Goiás. He was champion of Goiás five times in a row, between 1996 and 2000, twice champion of the Copa Centro-Oeste and Brazilian champion of Série B.
In 2003, he debuted at Botafogo and helped the Rio de Janeiro club to return to Série A of the Brazilian Championship, to win the Taça Rio and the Copa Pelegrino. In São Paulo, he played for Corinthians in 2009, when he was champion of São Paulo and the Copa do Brasil. That year, he also defended Grêmio de Porto Alegre. Between 2010 and 2012, he played for Figueirense. In December 2012, he signed with Sobradinho, a club from the Federal District, to compete in the Campeonato Brasiliense and the Copa do Brasil the following year. Abroad, he played for Arab club Al-Hilal, between 2001 and 2002, and for Japan’s Oita Tirinita, between 2005 and 2007.
As a manager, Guerreiro was director of Football at Goiás, from 2018 to 2020, when the team returned to Série A. He also served as director of Football at Botafogo, from 2020 to 2021, and participated in the transformation of the team into Sociedade Anônima do Futebol (SAF).
In addition to Botafogo, the team he defended the most in his career, the executive has another great passion: Guará, a satellite city of the DF where he was born, raised and where he returned to live. Today, he wants to help Sobradinho’s candango team become SAF.
