It will separate the vehicle crossing of the port boulevard with the road of the central railway and it will eliminate traffic interference caused by trucks entering the port of Montevideo. For this, it was determined that there would be a single vehicle entry in the North Access of the port and the unloading area was expanded there.
The viaduct works began in June 2019 and had a final cost of $135 million. The project included the general lighting of the entire work.
When the second UPM plant is operational, it is estimated that 200 trucks will arrive in Montevideo daily.
