The mayor of the Colonia Miguelete municipality in Colonia, Maria Elena Martin (National Party), would have used machinery from the Municipality of Colonia to transfer land to a field owned by his family, according to the Colorado councilman, Héctor Rodríguez, and the entire group of mayors of the Broad Front.
According to information provided by the daily, the FA bench hopes to be able to include this complaint in its summons to mayor Carlos Moreira: this seems accurate to them because Martín belongs to the same sector as him.
Councilman Rodríguez told the newspaper that he and his peers had been aware of the questionable event since November 2021, and that the mayor refused to submit a request for information, for which he had to turn to the departmental mayors.
He claims to have the support of two white councilors and said that there is information in the minutes of extraordinary sessions. However, he has not been able to access these because the mayor is on leave until February 7, and the deputy mayor has not wanted to release them.

The mayor explained that “a piece of land was going to be cleaned and that land would go to a quarry on Avenida 18 de Julio and route 54”, the councilor consulted her in the last session of the year and warned her “that never I hadn’t seen any truck pass by there,” and according to the official’s account, Martin replied “that the land had gone to other neighbors’ properties.”
Carlos Moreira had promised to be more rigorous in auditing the mayor’s offices, after the head of the municipality of Florencio Sánchez was sentenced in September 2021 to prison along with six other people for crimes against the public administration and had to resign from his position.
