SANTO DOMINGO.- The Office for the Reorganization of Transportation (Opret) reported today that it is working on the renovation of the areas of the building “Mama Tingó Training Center (attached to the Metro station with the same name)”, which will soon house an extension of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), from the Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA), the Intrant National School of Road Education (Enevial) and also, the Opret Railway Education and Training Center.
It is a project that seeks to bring higher and technical education services to young people from the entire northern zone of Santo Domingo and thus decentralize access to spaces that contribute to the development of the country.
The institution detailed each of the academic offers and the services that these institutions will provide, which will soon operate in the emblematic Mamá Tingó station of Line I of the Santo Domingo Metro in Villa Mella.
In this sense, the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) by order of the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, advances in the installation of offices and classrooms where an extension will operate for third and fourth level education to the sectors of the Northern zone of Greater Santo Domingo and adjacent demarcations.
The house of higher studies indicated that from now on it will be informing the community of the undergraduate and postgraduate subjects, and the extracurricular courses that will be taught in the aforementioned place and the start date of the classes of the basic cycle subjects (Spanish Language I and II, Basic Mathematics, Basic Physics, Dominican Social History, Introduction to Social Sciences, Academic and Institutional Orientation, Basic Biology, Introduction to Philosophy and Physical Education).
ITLA Santo Domingo North
For its part, ITLA has the vision of strengthening the quality and relevance of technological education, thus favoring the processes of social inclusion, facilitating the inhabitants of the community to enter the labor market, and responding to the demands of technological innovation and needs. of the productive system for the development of the country and the improvement of the quality of life of citizens.
The academic offer will cover two-year higher technical level degrees in software, cybersecurity, computer forensics, data science, multimedia, and information networks, as well as diplomas, courses, and workshops in areas of technology, languages, and ITLA Program training. Teen, aimed at children and pre-adolescents from 9 to 15 years old.
As for people who wish to opt for one of the careers or training, they must complete their application online by accessing orbi.edu.do, according to the date established for each call, have a copy of the identity card, proof of study and be 16 years of age or older.
ITLA will also have a virtual library with more than 33,000 online books at the service of all students.
Intrant road education and training
In the case of the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (Intrant), through its National School of Road Education, it will make available to all citizens modular courses and diplomas focused on establishing capacities, theoretical and practical knowledge, abilities, skills and the behaviors required to safely drive any type of vehicle.
With this action, it seeks to make citizens aware of the responsibility that being behind the wheel implies, in addition to promoting the sense of responsibility and the conduct of each user of the public highway, to prevent accidents and injuries from road accidents, through of a safe, efficient and sustainable transit, the promotion of health and life as major assets and compliance with current regulations.
These trainings will be aimed at teachers, facilitators, teachers at the driver’s house, driving school facilitators and instructors, police and military, health personnel, journalists, communicators and press teams, sociocultural animators, or any other group related to transport , transit, mobility and road safety.
Opret Railway Training Center
At the Opret Railway Training Center, training will be given, ranging from training courses in skills for jobs: customer service, train driving, station operation, exploitation, supervision of general services, dispatch of the command post , command post coordination, course for janitors, operations technician, training courses for instructors at the training center, among others.
In addition, retraining and updating of general and specific skills for the jobs that include the solution of train breakdowns, the sales process, traffic regulations, occupational safety, elevator rescue, track platform access, user standards manual, customer service, conflict management and effective supervision.
For this, Opret has highly qualified, trained and experienced personnel, with the capacity to be multipliers, as in the case of the Panama metro, whose personnel were trained by said center and its local instructors. In addition, the railway workshops and laboratories will be available for the improvement of many of its trainees.
