The president of Peru, Dina Boluarte, appointed her cabinet this Saturday, December 10, three days after assuming the leadership of the Inca country, after the dismissal and arrest of Pedro Castillo accused of carrying out a coup, with the former superior prosecutor Pedro Miguel Angulo Arana.
In a protocol ceremony held at the Government Palace, Boluarte swore in Angulo Arana as the new president of the Council of Ministers and called on him to act against corruption.
The new head of the ministerial cabinet is a lawyer by profession and former superior prosecutor, he served as dean of the Lima Bar Association. Likewise, in 2020 he was the presidential candidate of the Contigo party (former Peruvians for Kambio); review The Republic.

Council of Ministers of Peru will be “broad-based”
Before proceeding to reveal the names, Boluarte announced that this Council of Ministers will be “broad-based” and will be made up of specialists in each sector. The event was scheduled to start at noon.
The ministries of Development and Social Inclusion, Foreign Trade and Tourism and Development and Social Inclusion were left under the reins of Julio Javier Demartini Montes, Luis Fernando Helguero Gonzalez and Hania Pérez de Cuellar, respectively.
Greece Elena Rojas Ortiz was sworn in as Minister of Women; Albina Ruiz Ríos, as Minister of the Environment; Jair Pérez Brañez, as Minister of Culture; and Sandra Belaunde Arnillas, as Minister of Production.
“Calm and dialogue”
Prior to the swearing in ceremony, Boluarte made, through his Twitter account, a call for calm and dialogue to the small groups of protesters who have come out in recent days to protest in various cities in Peru.
To date, the demonstrations in the South American country add up to eight injured and seven arrested.
Former head of the PCM in hiding
In the morning hours of this Saturday, it was also learned that the president of the Council of Ministers, Anibal Torres, went into hiding, after he was denounced by the National Prosecutor, Patricia Benavides, for the crime of “rebellion and other crimes”.
“The National Prosecutor for no reason has denounced me for being part of a criminal organization and disturbance of justice. Now she does it for rebellion and other crimes, just for hearing the presidential message. She says that the prosecutors are political operators.
