Eight days before the Simultaneous Internal Elections that will define the official candidates for the presidency of the Republic, some positions are beginning to be defined while others diverge more and more from their nuclei. Both in the ruling party and in the agreement there are disagreements, but there are names that resonate more strongly than the other presidential candidates.
Arnoldo Wiens and Santiago Peña are fighting for a place to represent the Party, while Efraín Alegre, Martín Burt, Sebastián Villarejo, among others, continue to seek an agreement on the word “Concertación.” The former Minister of Public Works emphatically emphasized that he would end the Cartes era.
PRE-CANDIDATES
«We know that the people we face in these inmates have kuatia vai; They want to confront us with dirty money and we are going to win with will, heart and principles, like good Colorados. I’m not afraid of them and we’re going to beat them on December 18,” Wiens said in one of his recent tours of the northeast of Itapúa, as part of his closing campaign.
To these words he added that “on December 18 the Cartes era ends, a disastrous stage for the ANR”, to then begin a process of reconstruction of the Colorado Party around the joint project represented by List 1, which it considers will win. the General Elections and then take the same course throughout the country.
Santiago Peña, in turn, from Villarica mentioned that they have dedicated a lot of time to the formation of the teams and the rosters, and they are adjusting details for next Sunday. According to his estimates, one of the biggest victories and differences in terms of voting at the national level would take place in the department of Guairá, leaving everything in the hands of the Electoral Justice.
«The Honor Colorado movement has met each of the requirements at this stage to the letter; That is the great strength that the Colorado Party has, not only the ability to present candidacies, we presented more than 30,000 candidacies for different elective positions, but we are deploying an army of workers, “said the candidate.
Finally, he sentenced: «this government has shown a tremendous lack of patriotism. The publicity where it is observed that the pro-government candidate is going to show the red card to corruption, has to show the card to himself, since he has been one of the main architects of corruption. They are clearly on a ship that is adrift and that on the 18th is going to hit an iceberg, this great wall that is the Honor Colorado movement.
CONCERTATION
For his part, the pre-candidate Martín Burt, pointed out days ago that the opposition sector bears the responsibility of making a real political difference. “Not only the government hits us, but also the losing opposition,” he told local media, adding that this segment is resigned to complaining all year long and wasting as much time as possible in the face of the elections.
Burt explained that, unfortunately, the sector faces an already arranged party, in which the opposition elects losers as its representatives. For this reason, he pointed out that the change at the national level must encompass everyone to stop opting for the same figures as always, and again highlighted Alegre’s lack of debating capacity, being responsible for the fact that there are no real changes. «He has no arguments to debate. He has no government plans, he has not been updated, he has no speech, “he said.
Another of the pre-candidates for the Concertación, Sebastián Villarejo, was much more open and willing to talk with all sectors without exception, denoting his capacity for dialogue and transparency in his intentions. He stressed that, “this 18 we all have the enormous opportunity to choose a new policy; If you don’t like the usual candidates, vote against them and let’s eliminate the domes, let’s play for something new ».
Villarejo finally stated that “this is the opportunity for you to go vote for whoever you think is the best candidate; In April, perhaps many will vote at least worse, but in December it is the opportunity that for the first time in history the opposition, who were not part of some form of ruling party, can choose.
