MADRID, Spain.- This Saturday the Intemperie Forum will be inaugurated in Madrid, an event for debate and reflection on the current Cuban reality. The meeting, organized by the feminist magazine taut wings and the digital medium inverted treewill take place at 5:00 in the afternoon at the Artistic Metropol in the Spanish capital.
The forum will be held quarterly and in this, its first edition, will have “Cinema and Human Rights” as its central theme. According to defined the organizers of the space, will have the introduction of the artist and cultural manager Lester Álvarez Meno. And it will have as panelists the art curator Solveig Font, the writer and director Khaterine Bisquet and the filmmakers Fernando Fraguela Fosado and José Luis Aparicio Ferrera.
During the day, documentary films will be screened In San Isidro (2022) and Women who dream of a countrys (2022).
The first, by Katherine Bisquet, “is a collective portrait of the artists, intellectuals and members of independent civil society who were quartered at the headquarters of the San Isidro Movement and they began hunger and thirst strikes; who were violently detained on the night of November 26, 2020 after the raid of the headquarters by the Cuban political police”. It is worth noting that Bisquet was among the quartered and during those days he recorded the sequences and photos that he now shows in the audiovisual.
Meanwhile in Women who dream of a countrydirected by Fernando Fraguela, the activists Anamely Ramos, Daniela Rojo and Bisquet tell experiences related to the repression to which they were subjected by the Cuban State.
The date of the inauguration of Foro Intemperie coincides, with all intention, with the date on which the world celebrates Human Rights Day, while in Cuba not only are these rights violated daily, but those who claim them are repressed.
