The leader of the Movement Towards Socialism (MAS) in the Chamber of Senators, Leonardo Loza, came out in front of the criticism and assured that the country’s former president Evo Morales “has no relationship with drug trafficking.”

After the case of the former head of the Special Force to Fight Drug Trafficking (FELCN) Maximiliano Dávila, linked by the DEA to a case of drug and arms trafficking, came to light, opponents called for Morales to be investigated.

“In reality, Evo Morales has no relationship with drug trafficking, neither with Dávila nor with any other person involved, he has no relationship with drug trafficking,” said the pro-government legislator.

In this context, he affirmed that “for a whole year, the DEA, the CIA, the United States government, in the coup d’état in our country, brother Evo Morales, brother Andrónico and myself for a whole year have investigated us for drug trafficking and corruption.

Dávila was a former anti-drug chief in the Morales government, in 2019, and celebrated his birthday before the former president’s resignation.

“They have not found anything and they will not find anything because we are not corrupt nor are we drug traffickers, let the United States government know and some interested in mistreating Evo Morales,” Loza said.
