The traditional Christmas tree lighting ceremony was held this Thursday night, which is set up every year on the structure of the Bicentennial Lighthouse and which is 100 meters high, located on the Sarmiento Park property, in the area adjacent to Nueva Córdoba and Nores Martínez neighborhoods in the city of Córdoba.
The activity, with free admission, began at 8:00 p.m. with the lighting of the 40 strips of LED lights of 100 meters each, the 400 monochrome balloons and a five-meter-wide star at the top of the tree that, according to the official data, it is one of the largest in South America.
The structure also has 60 Beam RGBW heads around the tree, 36 different shapes that represent gifts and during its operation a constant show of moving lights is displayed.
Organized by the Córdoba Cultura Agency, the ceremony was accompanied by a colorful Christmas repertoire with Christmas carols and other rhythms alluding to the date that was performed by the Children’s Choir of the Domingo Zípoli Institute and the Camerata de La Orquesta Escuela Mediterránea.
The tree is lit on December 8 of each year, as part of the Christmas spirit that represents the Day of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, better known as the Day of the Virgin.
