Monsignor Valenzuela calls for greater attention to the family

Under the motto “The Virgin Mary summons the laity to embody the word” the traditional central mass in commemoration of the Virgin of Caacupé is held this morning with the presence of thousands of parishioners who went to the minor basilica to celebrate the holiday

The homily was given by Monsignor Ricardo Valenzuela, who made reference to the family, being the fundamental element of social life. The misla classified it as wounded because it does not have deep roots of faith.

“The family is fractured, because we do not instill in our children the love of God and neighbor, because we do not even accept that they are people with defects, we do not tolerate being called attention,” he said.

He called on the authorities to redouble their efforts to eradicate the various evils that attack the family.

«The future depends on the family, because it carries with it the future of society. We must let God reign with his gratuitous love in our home,” he said.
