According to the 2023 Budget Law approved a few weeks ago by Congress, next year 100 million soles will be allocated for common pots throughout the country. The Provincial Municipality of Huancayo (MPH) is in charge of 5 common pots and they hope that this new provision will crystallize from the following month since all this year they were only supplied with Qaly Warma products.

Correo spoke with Raquel Gonzales, responsible for the common pots at the MPH, who pointed out that they are already aware that next year the families that will benefit from these soup kitchens will have guaranteed food. This year, to alleviate the need of the population living in poverty and extreme poverty, the Qaly Warma program delivered products. A first consignment was delivered in September and the second would be made next week.
They received 1,190 bottles of vegetable oil; 4,740 bags of rice of one kilo each; 1,115 kilograms of peas; 1,190 kilograms of sugar; 2,795 kilograms of canned chicken (in cans); 5,930 liters of milk in 400-gram jars, among other products. The common pots benefited are “Los Claveles”; “Alto Vista Alegre”; “Jesus Nazarene”; “Cerro Hermoza” and “Women Unity”.

Glass of milk
The Budget Law also allocates 100 million soles to finance the Glass of Milk Program (PVL). In Huancayo there are 66 committees that receive food from this program in charge of the Social Development management of the commune. This year the program had S/ 1,105,377 of money and as it was known through the Image office, all of this was spent.
At the national level, Congress and the Executive branch approved a budget of 7,806 million soles for the “social protection” item, which includes these two programs.
