Maduro: the oil working class must promote gas power

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, commemorated the 20th Anniversary of the Victory of the Working Class against the Oil Sabotage of December 6, 2002.

In a meeting with the working class of that sector, he received a manifesto of revolutionary commitment from those who rescued the industry 20 years ago and stressed that the working class of PDVSA has to promote the projects for the gas power Venezuela.

“20 years ago a stateless elite, a stateless management put their charges at the command of a plan to destroy Venezuela. They thought they could bring us to our knees, but the people taught them a lesson,” he said.

He highlighted that on December 6, 2002, the sabotage of the oil industry began and a monstrous crime was committed through a man to generate a social explosion in Venezuela, “today that population that did not let go continues in force and in the streets against fascism,” he said.

In this sense, he said that the oil strike was a stab in the back to the humble people of Venezuela.

Likewise, Maduro affirmed that behind all the conspiracies against Venezuela, is North American imperialism. “The people of Venezuela, victims of these cruel, perverse and criminal attacks, resisted,” he asserted.
