Women earn less but comply more with their payments to Infonavit

Compliance with this financial obligation contrasts with the inequality that exists between men and women, both in terms of salary and in access to Infonavit credits.

For the loans for the purchase of housing that were granted in 2015, the Infonavit analysis revealed that:

The salary of men is on average 18.8% higher than that of women. That is, while men earn 16,380.50 pesos per month on average, women earn 14,040.43 pesos per month.

In addition, only 34.1% of the loans were granted to women and the average age to exercise a loan is 34.4 years for women and 33.7 years for men.

And the average amount of credit was lower in the case of women than in that of men (283.4 thousand pesos vs. 311.2 thousand pesos, respectively).

Despite these data, women are more compliant according to the analysis that involved more than 381 thousand loans granted in 2015, with a follow-up of their behavior until 2019, to avoid statistical biases caused by covid-19, during 2020 and later years.
