MADRID, Spain.- Representatives of the Hemispheric Front for Freedom, the Assembly of the Cuban Resistance and activists, invited by the VOX deputy Hermann Tertsch, met this Tuesday with MEPs to report the violation of human rights in Cuba and the financing offered by the European Union (EU) to the regime.
René Bolio, president of the International Commission for Justice Cuba and former senator of Mexico, explained to CubaNet that during the meeting it was stated that the EU has continued to finance the Cuban dictatorship, has contributed millions of euros in various programs and has forgiven its debts.
However, the regime does not invest this money in medicines or food, but uses it to reinforce its mechanisms of repression, increased after the popular protests of July 11, 2021. (11J); situation that is not supervised by the European Union, condemned Bolio.
In the forum, within the summit of the Eurolat Group of European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR), it was also denounced that the Cuban government is the main ally of Vladimir Putin in Latin America.
In conversation with this medium, René Bolio considered that it is a great step to have been heard by the MEPs, who will request the revision of the agreements between the European Union and Havana.
For his part, Dragos Dolanescu, president of the Hemispheric Front for Freedom, during his speech at the meeting also referred to the link between the Castro regime and Putin, “which is demonstrated by the more than 35 billion dollars that has been given Russia to the Government of Havana over the years, and as such the Castro regime has been the political articulator of the Russians for the rest of Latin America”.
