The former president of Bolivia Evo Morales supported Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner in the moments before the verdict of the Roads case was known, which he considered as “a armed political trial by the right”.
On his official Twitter account, Evo Morales published: “Our support for sister Cristina Kirchner who, after surviving an attempt on her life, faces a political trial armed by the right with the complicity of some corrupt justice operators.”
“The people and the truth are on your side, sister Cristina”highlighted the former Bolivian president.
The oral trial of the Vice President and 12 others accused of public road works in Santa Cruz between 2003 and 2015 will have a verdict this Tuesday, with claims of acquittal for the absence of a crime by the defenses and sentences of up to 12 years in prison from the prosecution.

The judges of the Federal Oral Court 2 Jorge Gorini, Rodrigo Giménez Uriburu and Andrés Basso foresee announce the sentence this Tuesday afternoon in the so-called “Road case”, under the same blended modality that the trial had since it resumed after spending almost half a year suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The trial for the alleged directing of public works in Santa Cruz between 2003 and 2015 in favor of Báez companies began in May 2019 in the federal courts of Retiro, was interrupted for six months by the pandemic and resumed virtually in August of 2020.
The verdict may be appealed before the Federal Chamber of Cassation, once its foundations are known, for which reason it will not be a final sentence and its compliance will be subject to a future decision of the highest federal criminal court in the country.juici
