The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luis Almagroruled on the path that the country should follow to stop the political crises, after the visit made by the High Level Group last November.
Through his social networks, Almagro emphasized that there must be a truce between the Executive and the Legislative. In addition, he stressed that it is best to prioritize open and respectful dialogue between Peruvians and their institutions.

“A political truce and inclusive, open, frank and respectful institutional dialogue among all Peruvians and their institutions are the path for the good of the country and its citizens.”, Almagro wrote on his Twitter account.

After the visit of a mission to Peru, the OAS observers presented their final report to the Permanent Council of the institution and, in their recommendations, highlighted the need to initiate a “political truce” while the dialogue is established and called. in order to achieve aminimum consensus to ensure governance”.
In this sense, the High Level Group remarked that political actors have to provide a climate of calm to advance on the issue and emphasized that judicial processes “must follow their course within the legal term”.
