The education ministerAngel Hernandez, He said this Monday that it is necessary to strengthen the family in its educational role, by ensuring that there is no way to improve the school if the family is not involved.
He indicated that the active participation of the family and the community in the educational process that takes place in the classroom is essential to guarantee the learning of children in the first stage of schooling and to overcome the current limitations of the educational system.
“It is time for families to be the main actors in this process, not just observers,” said the minister when speaking at the 2022 National Seminar on Families, organized by the Vice Ministry of Decentralization and Community Participation of the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic (Minerd).

For her part, the Vice Minister of Decentralization and Participation of Minerd, Ligia Pérez, invited families to learn about the legal framework for their participation in schools, which is contained in the General Education Law 66-97in order that they can participate actively and consciously in the processes that occur in the school environment.
«This seminar is called to rescue that commitment but giving families the guidelines and knowledge so that they can really get involved with all responsibility and assume the role that they really have to play because the school cannot alone“Perez said.
