More than 900 packs of cigarettes, allegedly contraband, valued at about 735,000 dollars, were seized by inspectors from the Directorate of Prevention and Customs Control at the Divisa checkpoint.
They also detained a Panamanian citizen, this during a follow-up operation that they carried out in the Azuero region.
According to Customs, the cigarettes were located inside a container whose final destination was Central America and which, according to the documentation presented by the driver, detailed that he was transporting various clothes and plastic cups.
This is the third confiscation registered in the Central Zone and Azuero that passes to the orders of the Public Ministry for investigation due to its value.
