Within the framework of international volunteer day, Banco Mercantil Santa Cruz, through its social arm, Fundación Mercantil Santa Cruz – Puedes Creer, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and UN Bolivia Volunteers commemorate the work of the volunteer, recognizing the value and the important contribution that they make in different causes in a disinterested way, contributing to growth for a better Bolivia.
“We are happy to commemorate the volunteers on their day, they are an indispensable pillar for social causes like the ones we carry out as a foundation, with a focus on education, health and sports for people in vulnerable situations. That is why we want to thank all the Centavolunteers who help us to amplify the arrival of the programs that we carry out and to be able to impact the lives of more people through their donations and their help. The commitment of the institutions, the time, the resources and the general support for the community is vital, seeking to reduce the social gaps that we have in mind”, affirmed Hernán González Manager of the Mercantile Foundation Santa Cruz – Puedes Creer.
The Fundación Mercantil Santa Cruz – Puedes Creer, carries out sustainable projects for the benefit of people in vulnerable situations in the areas of education, health and sports, in all the cities and communities where we have been in the last 10 years, it has had an impact and changed the lives of more than 41,000 people across the country.
Throughout this last decade, the foundation implemented the Scholarship Program, helping more than 680 young people in vulnerable situations who had the opportunity to study a university degree and 20 of them to complete an MBA at the IMF Business School, in Spain. . Through the Manitos Program, more than 1,260 surgical procedures were performed, benefiting more than 720 people who suffered from hand problems. With the Training Values Program, in partnership with the Real Madrid Foundation and the ALALAY Hogar de Niños Foundation, more than 30,000 people were benefited. Through the Davosan Program, support was given to the creation of the Hemodialysis Center and its pharmacies to help thousands of people suffering from kidney failure. To date, more than 94,000 dialysis sessions have been performed on more than 9,500 people who have this disease.
The scope of all these programs, throughout this decade, was implemented through the contributions of Banco Mercantil Santa Cruz to the foundation and was amplified thanks to the Centavolunteers, cents working for social causes to fulfill the dream of thousands of Bolivians in situation of vulnerability, and that thanks to different people and solidarity institutions that joined this program through their donations, we have managed to change lives.
“Today we want to thank and recognize the valuable contribution of all the people and institutions committed to our cause, throughout our ten years of life. We also want to invite all people to become a Centavolunteer, so that they can see their contribution reflected in the projects that we have carried out for a decade and that we will continue for more. We are sure that together we will be able to continue reducing social gaps, generating a positive impact on society and changing lives,” added the executive.
