The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, regretted this Sunday the physical departure of a great leader and fighter, Dr. Norma Romero, who presided over the National Council for the Development of Afro-descendant Communities of Venezuela (Conadecafro).
The message was released by the Head of State through the social network Twitter, @NicolasMaduro, where he expressed: “My deepest condolences to your family, friends and our Afro-descendant brothers and sisters.”
Norma Romero Marín, was the promoter of the integral formation of the education Afro-Venezuelan in the country, an agreement that was signed with the articulation of the Ombudsman’s Office, with the purpose of disseminating all the unknown history of Afro-Venezuelan people.
Professor Romero, during the presidency of Conadecafro, was in charge of carrying out the rescue and defense of the Afro-descendant population in the national territory, as well as advising regarding respect for the Human Rights of this population in Venezuela.
He participated in the International Conference Against Racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related forms of intolerance, promoted by the National Executive, in this way, complying with what the Magna Carta orders.
