The appointment by the Bolivian government of former deputy Lidia Patty as the new ambassador to the Paraguayan government sparked controversy in the neighboring country.
Referring to the Movement for Socialism, during her parliamentary term Patty was harshly questioned for her “shocking positions with the opposition.
“Of course I oppose the designation of Lidia Patty as ambassador to Paraguay, she does not represent Bolivia, only a communist, racist and hater group,” declared Senator Eva González, who stated that with her appointment she reveals how the government of Luis Arce, improvises in each of the efforts that should have more balance, they accuse.
The official announcement that Lidia Patty will be the ambassador in Paraguay was made by the government spokesperson, Jaime Richter.
“This appointment is important because it represents progress for the ladies with skirts, whom for decades we have condemned to housework,” Richter remarked.
Last year the Bolivian government dismissed Mario Cronebold, then ambassador to the Paraguayan government. The reason, a video that the diplomat made and in which he made fun of the Paraguayan way of speaking.
