More than 200 families of the Zenú de Tuchín ethnic group, in Córdoba, made the largest Christmas tree in the world, made with arrow cane.
This giant handicraft is located in the Parque Comercial Guacarí, in Sincelejo and For its elaboration, more than 28,000 meters of arrow cane were necessary.

“This Christmas our hearts beat stronger because we are proud to celebrate our traditions and exalt our roots, but It is not only a pride of Guacarí, but of the entire savannah, that is why we continue weaving stories and uniting hearts ”, said Blanca Castaño, manager of the Parque Comercial Guacarí.
This is the largest cane flecha tree in Colombia and the world. It is ten meters high, where it shows the representative colors of the traditional vueltiao hat.
During 90 days the artisans built the structure that exalts theThe tradition of the savannah of the departments of Córdoba and Sucre. There were 17,000 meters of cane arrow fabric, and another 11,000 for the 900 mini rugs and the pieces of natural spikes of the arrow cane to give life to sabanera Christmas.
In the shopping center a Christmas adorned with the insignia is displayed of the sombrero vueltiao, which identifies not only the inhabitants of the area, but the more than 51 million inhabitants who are within Colombiaand also to the other thousands that represent the country, in other cultures in the world.
“The flecha cane, like the vueltiao hat, has had an impact and will strengthen our ethnic group,” said one of the artisans.
