Some worrying current data about the Paraguayan Chaco:

Every day, the Paraguayan Chaco loses around 800 hectares of forests, which represents one of the fastest deforestation rates on the planet. It is as if the largest stadium in Paraguay, the Defensores del Chaco, was cut down 600 times every day.

At least 15 Chaco indigenous peoples are threatened, including the only isolated groups outside of the Amazon: the Ayoreos in voluntary isolation.

Deforestation puts at risk around 4,000 species of plants, 150 mammals, 120 reptiles, 500 birds, 100 amphibians, that is, one of the richest ecosystems on the continent.
