More than 50 legal professionals receive master’s and specialization degrees from the TSJ

In the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) the titles were awarded to the graduates of the First Master’s Cohort and the Second Specialization Cohort, “Libertador Simón Bolívar” promotion, of the Research and Postgraduate Institute of the National School of Magistracy (IIPENM).

According to a press release from the TSJ, the graduates approved the academic programs of the specializations in Alternative Means of Conflict Resolution, Social Work Process, Indigenous Rights and Law and Globalization, as well as master’s degrees in Constitutional Law, Legal Criticism and Human Rights of the National School of the Magistracy.

The Simón Bolívar promotion, in turn, paid tribute to professors Eduar Moreno and William Giménez, who died from COVID-19.

The activity, carried out in the Main Auditorium of the High Court, was headed by the president of the country’s highest court, Gladys María Gutiérrez Alvarado, who was accompanied by the general coordinator of the ENM and member of the Constitutional Chamber, Judge Luis Fernando Damiani Bustillos and the general director of the IIPENM, Dr. Guillermo Blanco Vázquez.

In her speech, Gladys Gutiérrez stated that it is a day of joy for the Venezuelan judicial academy for its constant achievements, aimed at reaching the highest academic levels and judicial knowledge in the science of law, “with which the mandate contained in the Article 255 of the Magna Carta, where the professionalization of judges is prioritized with the organization of university law studies and the corresponding judicial specializations”.

He also thanked and recognized the work of Judge Luis Fernando Damiani Bustillos and Dr. Guillermo Blanco Vázquez, together with their respective work teams, for the dedication and dedication from the National School of the Magistracy for the benefit of legal professionals in the country. .

«We hope from this high court that in their exercise they contribute to social transformation from the field of justice; our democratic and social State of Law and Justice has promoted a new legal culture and you are called to deepen it”, he indicated to the graduates.

For his part, Will López, representing the graduates, said: “We are very grateful for the effort made by the president of the TSJ, who is the godmother of this promotion Libertador Simón Bolívar, as well as magistrate Luis Fernando Damiani Bustillos and to magistrate emeritus Guillermo Blanco, who with their wisdom and joint work have been able to carry out each of the study programs taught by the Institute of Research and Postgraduate Studies of the National School of the Magistracy with great success.

The closing remarks were given by Judge Luis Fernando Damiani Bustillos, who expressed his gratitude to Judge Gladys María Gutiérrez Alvarado, for her performance as president of the judiciary, as well as for her constant support of the ENM and the IIPENM.

Also present at the event were TSJ magistrates, emeritus magistrates, deputies of the National Assembly, the Inspector General of Courts, the Executive Director of the Magistracy, rectors and university authorities, together with judicial servants.
