Industry challenges are numerous. For this reason, we are looking for a centralized identity validation method that works for our sector and that collaborates with the entire country.”

MISSION OBJECTIVES

This technical mission has had several key objectives for the Peruvian financial industry. On the one hand, building strategic alliances and collaboration agreements with the main international actors to guarantee the flow of information that allows the rapid identification of threats and the best available practices. Another objective is the implementation of state-of-the-art technologies and solutions that guarantee the security of financial products and services. Another focus of this tour is education because it is necessary not only to train managerial and technical levels, but also clients and citizens, so that they acquire preventive habits. According to Giovanni Pichling “we need to create awareness at the national level that cybersecurity is collaborative work, where each citizen has a dose of responsibility. The speed with which cybercrime is becoming more sophisticated forces us to train ourselves to address prevention, mitigation, and resilience, which is the ability to quickly recover from an attack.”

The comparative experience and the conversations held with leaders from around the world reaffirm collaborative work between the State, academia and the private sector as a key factor in facing this new scenario. As the General Manager of Asbanc, Miguel Vargas, comments, “we must see ourselves as an ecosystem whose mission is to facilitate education, innovation and technological development in cybersecurity issues for the benefit of the country.”
