Fernández reviewed the multilateral and financing agenda with the head of CAF

President Alberto Fernández analyzed this Friday together with the leader of the CAF-Development Bank of Latin America, Sergio Díaz-Granados, the projects that the entity is developing in Argentina and both defined lines of work for the future.

The corporate vice president for Strategic Planning of the multilateral organization, Christian Asinelli, also participated in the meeting held at the Casa Rosada, reported from the Presidency.

At the meeting, officials “they agreed on the importance of continuing to strengthen the links between the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean to stimulate greater financial support and technical knowledge to national and local governments”specified an official statement.

In addition, the authorities of the multilateral organization expressed their support for the Argentine pro tempore presidency before the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, and reviewed together with the head of state the calendar of meetings and meetings for 2023 between the European Union (EU) and Celac.

“We had the opportunity to talk about the challenges presented by the energy transition in South America and Latin America; in addition, we agreed on the need to promote regional integration to face the challenges that the region presents in economic and social matters”, Díaz-Granados stated at the end of the meeting.

And he added: “We look forward to the next meeting between the ministers of economy and finance of the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean.”

CAF is a bank founded in 1970 and is currently made up of 19 countries in Latin America and the Caribbeanincluding Argentina, Brazil and Mexico, in addition to Spain, Portugal and 13 private banks.
