The government authorized the Banco de Previsión Social (BPS) to grant “a special benefit” at the end of the year of $2,734 to retirees and pensioners who receive the minimum retirement, currently $16,000.
The decree argues that “it is understood essential to establish concrete measures in socioeconomic policies, which contemplate the group of passive affiliates of the BPS, who receive the minimum amounts in force.”
It is added that “it is understood necessary to grant certain economic benefits to sectors of the population for a better enjoyment of the traditional year-end festivities.”
