Former NFL player Drew Brees was struck by lightning on Thursday night while filming a commercial in the Lake Maracaibo basin, in the state of Zulia, in western Venezuela.
This Friday, the athlete reported through his social networks that “he is fine” after the incident.
The lightning of Catatumbo
The place where the event occurred is known for an important meteorological phenomenon, called Catatumbo Lightning, at the mouth of the Catatumbo River and Lake Maracaibo.
This area is known worldwide for being the place where the most lightning strikes in the world.
