A tribute to Anthony Ríos: "The Great sing to the Giant"

A new tribute to the unforgettable Dominican singer-songwriter anthony rios comes under the title of “The great sing to the giant.”

A note presents it as the most important record tribute to the author of La mancha, and adds that it was released on Thursday, December 1.

It is a Christmas gift from the Rampa Music record label to the artist’s fans.

The album for Anthony Ríos is available on the digital music platforms Spotify, Deezer, Amazon Music, Tidal, SiriusXM, Audiomack, Youtube and Tik Tok.

The voices conquered for this adventure are those of Tono Rosario, serge vargasAlex Bueno, Ramón Orlando and Fernando Villalona.

Johnny Vargas, Pablo Martínez, Diómedes, Henry García, Johnny Contreras, Roberto del Castillo, Monchy Capricho, Ravel and Charlie Rodríguez, complete the 14 merengue voices that interpret Anthony’s hits.

Ramy Reyes, executive producer of the album, reveals that he turned his admiration for Anthony Ríos into an album that was recorded in recording studios in New Jersey, North Carolina and Santo Domingo.

Reyes identifies himself as an admirer of Anthony Ríos since the artist came to El Combo Show de Johnny Ventura.

“I was an inveterate admirer of Johnny Ventura’s El Combo Show and then when this white boy from Hato Mayor came in, where one learned to love and admire him, over time he became a mega figure,” he highlights.

He explains that from the first bolero recorded by Anthony Ríos in the group led by Ventura, the singer-songwriter became the figure he was in all fields of art.

“I liked how he interpreted the boleros and among the projects we have for the label we decided to do this tribute in the voices of friendly artists,” he said.

“And to cover ourselves and avoid jealousy, we decided to invite them all and these are the ones who could,” he reveals, about the album that included arrangements by Julio Olivero.

The tribute album to Anthony Ríos

The album was recorded with a Big Band uniform. Excellent mixing and pasteurization are the results of technical work.

The album cover is an oil portrait of Anthony Ríos.

A song entered the album that could well not be there. Although it belonged to the repertoire that Anthony sang, it was not his. I mean Beloved lover, written by Roberto Carlos and his brother Erasmo.

Instead, classics such as La Mancha or Z were left out, just to mention two.

Nevertheless, the effort is commendable. Especially for the excellent orchestration of the songs and the melodic interpretations, in homage to Anthony Ríos.

Among the vocal performances, those of Johnny Vargas stand out, due to their resemblance to the voice of Anthony, Fernando, Toño, and Robert del Castillo.

Also noteworthy are those of Sergio Vargas, Pablo Martínez and Ramón Orlando, among others from friends of Anthony Ríos.

This appears to be the original disk order:

Toño Rosario (The Scream)

Sergio Vargas (You choose)

Alex Bueno (I can’t resist you)

Ramón Orlando (For when he returns)

Fernando Villalona (Chained)

Johnny Vargas (Today I would give my life)

Pablo Martínez (Die of love)

Diomedes (Could be)

Henry Garcia (I am at your service)

Johnny Contreras (Old Friend)

Roberto del Castillo (Fatality)

Monchy Capricho (One night is not enough)

Ravel (Beloved lover)

Charlie Rodriguez (Anyone)
