(Banrep manager regrets Carrasquilla’s withdrawal from the board of directors).

“The Chamber found it accredited that such appointment ignored article 4 of Law 581 of 2000, which establishes the adequate participation of women in the highest decision-making levels at a minimum of 30 percent (gender quota), in addition to other postulates of conventional and constitutional rank that protect the right to equality”assured the high court.

After the appointment, the board of directors of the Banco de la República is confirmed by the Minister of Finance, José Antonio Ocampo; general manager, Leonardo Villar; and the co-directors Roberto Steiner, Bibiana Taboada, Jaime Jaramillo-Vallejo, Mauricio Villamizar and Olga Lucía Acosta.
