The head of the Ministry of Transport and Public Works (MTOP), José Luis Falero, signed agreements with the Manos Unidas Center and the clubs
Relámpago, Reducto and Marne to contribute to the expenses in works destined to infrastructure improvements. Falero participated, this Thursday the 1st, together with the national director of Architecture of the portfolio, Santiago Borsari, in the signing of four social agreements with capital institutions, to which the ministry will contribute 15 million pesos to make improvements in their infrastructures.
The minister highlighted that in the present administration the budget item for the Social Agreements plan was doubled, in order to reach a greater number of establishments, considering that they constitute strategic partners, since they will carry out considerations of a community nature.
Thanks to the commitment with the Manos Unidas Center, works will be carried out for 3,500,000 pesos, of which the portfolio will contribute more than 3,000,000. The beneficiary entity is dedicated to the education and accompaniment of people with intellectual disabilities and training through workshops that promote the social and labor inclusion of 22 people over 20 years of age.
In the same sense, the agreement with the Lightning Club, in whose signing the undersecretary Juan José Olaizola also participated, will facilitate improvements for a total of 1,305,000 pesos, of which the ministry will contribute 1,000,000. The sports institution will use the funds to readjust the mezzanine, build a warehouse, and repair the façade and front retreat. In this case, the MTOP requires five scholarships as consideration, established in the previous agreement until 2030.
The club serves the population of the Malvín neighborhood, in its records there are 500 active members of all ages. Different activities are carried out there, such as children’s soccer practice in all categories, women’s soccer, karate and tai chi, among others. Likewise, the students of high school no. 31 carry out the curricular physical exercise at that venue. The facilities are used free of charge by the San Vicente de Paul Society, for its internal work with the Institute for Children and Adolescents of Uruguay (INAU), and as a voting center for the Electoral Court, in electoral processes.
Another of the beneficiary establishments is the Club Deportivo Reducto, in the homonymous neighborhood of the country’s capital. In this case, of 8,200,000 pesos, the ministry will contribute 6,000,000. The total will be used to build restrooms and locker rooms, close one side of the basketball court, the main sporting activity, to which were added handball and volleyball, for women and men.
The last agreement signed on the day will benefit Club Atlético Marne, which regularly participates in official children’s and women’s basketball tournaments. The total figure is 7,400,000 pesos, of which the portfolio will contribute 5,000,000. The amount will be used to expand the gym so that it has the regulatory measures, an area of the gym and the corresponding roof sector will be demolished. The consideration will be that the center allows the use of the facilities, for 15 hours a week for 10 years, to schools numbers 109 and 156 in the area.
Maldonado: three trucks that tried to cross bridge 2 of La Barra were fined
They were detected by the inspection body of the General Directorate of Transit in the last hours. These are three trucks to which article 4.3 was applied for disobedience. It should be remembered that in both bridge heads 2 the IDM installed technology for inspection and video surveillance, since the passage of heavy vehicles is not allowed. Bridge two was shored up in a period of a month and a half after a loss of one meter fifteen was confirmed. With the tasks the bridge was raised by 86 centimeters. On the other hand, the IDM continues to advance in the placement of the electronic speed surveillance system. To date, 28 of a total of 55 have been installed, 35 columns of 64 and 11 cabinets (radar boxes) of 64.
