MIAMI, United States. — The German soccer team, four times world champion (1954, 1974, 1990, 2014), was eliminated in the group stage of Qatar 2022, in what can be considered the biggest surprise of the competition so far.

In the other match, Japan took advantage of Spain’s confusion and condemned them to second place with a 2-1 victory. Ritsu Dōan and Ao Tanaka combined to thwart Álvaro Morata’s opening goal.
Now, the Japanese cast will face Croatia in the round of 16, while Spain will meet Morocco in a relatively accessible crossroads for those led by Luis Enrique.
