Spanish political scientist affirms that Spain will reinforce support to Ukraine, after terrorist attacks of envelope bombs

On Thursday morning, a letter bomb addressed to Pedro Sánchez, President of the Government of Spain, was intercepted. This is the sixth envelope with explosives detected in recent days

Since November 24, six targets, both of the Government and of the defense infrastructure in Spain, have received package bombs.

Darío Fernández, a political scientist at the Carlos III University of Spain, affirms that everything seems to indicate that the attacks are related to the war between Russia and Ukraine since several of the indicated objectives are part of the network of European arms supplies to Ukraine or are the same Ukrainian embassy, where the first of these bombs that became public knowledge exploded.

Spain is part of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) so it is against Russian attacks against Ukraine.

He pointed out that the attacks are designed to influence the action of the Government of Pedro Sánchez, which from the beginning of the war was closely aligned with NATO and therefore with the interests of the Ukrainian government of Volodímir Zelenski.

“These attacks seek to avoid shows of solidarity. The government is asking for calm and announced that it will consider these bombs as acts of terrorism, it would seem that it would reinforce the actions of NATO and the European Union in Ukraine after these attacks, ”he noted.
