“I am prepared to speak with Putin if he decides that he is prepared to look for ways to end the war,” Biden said, this Thursday, December 1, at a press conference at the White House together with the French president, Emmanuel Macron.
As reported by EFE, Biden maintained that the eventual dialogue with putin it would occur, hypothetically, in consultations with France and the rest of its allies in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
This Thursday, Biden and Macron began talks in the framework of an official visit by the President of France. On the agenda are issues such as the war in Ukraine, the growing threat from China in the Indo-Pacific region and the European consternation over aspects of the climate law promoted by the US president.
According to a statement from the White House, the leaders indicated that they will continue to support Ukraine “for as long as necessary.” In this sense, Biden and Macron “reiterate their countries’ continued support for Ukraine” and pledge to provide “political, security, humanitarian and economic assistance for as long as necessary,” according to a joint statement issued by the White House.
The Presidents expressed respect for Iranians who “courageously stand up” for their “fundamental freedoms” against the Persian regime.
