The FdT withdrew from the premises in the Legislature before "disrespect" by Philip Michael

The FdT withdrew from the premises in the Legislature before "disrespect" by Philip Michael

During the statements by the chief of ministers, the members of the opposition bloc got up from their benches and left the venue repudiating the statements.

The Buenos Aires bloc of the Frente de Todos (FdT) denounced this Thursday that Horacio Rodríguez Larreta “sent to rot” the special session in the Legislature venue destined to listen to the report of the local management, during which the Buenos Aires chief of staff, Felipe Miguel, attacked Kirchnerism for his criticism of educational policies and for pointing out that he “does not care” about students.

“Sad role of the Chief of Staff in the Buenos Aires Legislature,” they lamented from the opposition bloc after leaving the premises of the local Parliament shortly after the start of the official’s presentation that lasted for an hour and whose main axis was the educational management of Minister Soledad Acuña, who this Wednesday confirmed that she will be a pre-candidate for the head of Government.

In dialogue with Télam, FdT legislators described Miguel’s accusations as “attack” and “lack of respect” and they attributed their position to the fact that in the Juntos por el Cambio alliance “they are settling” their internship since “they are campaigning” with a view to the 2023 elections.

Also, They assured that the head of government “ordered the session to rot” in which the official also had to respond to the 2,400 questions that were previously sent to him from the opposition arch regarding the measures adopted by the management in the last semester.

After devoting the first words to the approval of the Budget, Miguel addressed what was done by the Ministry of Education, considering that “all the efforts we make reveal one of the great differences between the Kirchnerist model and the one we represent in Together for Change (JxC)”.

In that framework, Miguel defended labor practices for secondary school students, the reform of the teaching statute, school lunches and performance evaluations.

And he pointed out the questions expressed in this regard by the FdT bloc, arguing that “some say that we took away the flag of public education from Kirchnerism. This is not the case. The reality is that they never had it. And they never had it because they were not interested”.

“Kirchnerism does not care that the boys pass the year by decree or leave high school without the necessary knowledge. It does not care that the boys lose hours and days of class. It does not matter that those boys will not get a job tomorrow and they have to live from the plans,” the official said just ten minutes after starting his report.

It was then that all the members of the opposition bloc headed by deputy Claudio Ferreño got up from their benches and left the venue repudiating the words of the head of ministers while the first vice president Emmanuel Ferrario asked those present for silence.

The reaction of the Front of All

“It is a lack of respect, an attack on our political space,” he told Télam Victoria Montenegro when leaving the premises and added that it is “obvious that they are campaigning, ordering their internship”, in reference to the Together for Change coalition.

He also pointed out that Miguel’s presentation did not respond, until then, to any of the questions that the FdT sent him about local management and indicated that they expected “a higher level from a government official.”

In dialogue with Télam, the deputy Claudia Neira He attributed Miguel’s attitude to the fact that “they are settling his internship, launching candidates, attacking us politically, all incredible and shameful.”

“Instead of making an institutional management report, it is in campaign mode. It is not very serious. We got up because we cannot be part of the violent debate that he came to raise,” he said.

javier andradevice president of the FdT block, told Télam that instead of a management report, they met with “the chief of staff, led by Rodríguez Larreta, launching the candidacy of the first vice president of the Legislature, Emmanuel Ferrario, and speaking of Soledad Acuña and Fernán Quirós as candidates, and, finally, with an aggression towards our political space”.

And he added that by leaving the premises, they sought to “express a political position” and “not subscribe to that discourse of political violence.”

Juan Manuel ValdesFor his part, he stated in a statement that they found a speech “full of aggressions and provocations and the launch of the campaign of each of the candidates that he sponsors” Rodríguez Larreta.

“Miguel is desperate because they are all candidates except him. It is unfortunate that he has to attract attention with such pathetic facts,” he added.
