The Gross Domestic Product (GDP, sum of all final goods and services produced by a country in a year) varied by 0.4% in the third quarter of 2022, compared to the second, in the seasonally adjusted series. The data was disclosed today (1st) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
Compared to the same period in 2021, GDP grew by 3.6%. Accumulated in the four quarters ending in September 2022, GDP grew by 3%, compared to the immediately previous four quarters. The accumulated for the year was 3.2% compared to the same period in 2021.
In current values, GDP in the third quarter of 2022 totaled BRL 2.544 trillion, of which BRL 2.202 trillion referred to Value Added (VA) at basic prices and BRL 342.1 billion to Taxes on Products net of Subsidies.
In the third quarter of 2022, the investment rate was 19.6% of GDP, above that observed in the same period of 2021 (19.4%). The savings rate was 16.2%, lower than that of the third quarter of last year (17.2%).
