The minimum wage increase general was agreed unanimously with the business community to improve the conditions of workers, so now, the federal government needs to respond in offering a friendly environment to attract investment, which generate job sources, demanded the Private Initiative.
Jose Abugaberpresident of the Confederation of Industrial Chambers (concamin) said they support the wage increase, although “we ask the Mexican government for favorable conditions for greater investment and productivity in order to continue increasing formal employment.”
As a formal business sector, he commented, we support the proposal for a 20% increase in the minimum wage. “It is an act of justice for the workers,” she said.
The Employers’ Confederation of the Mexican Republic (coparmex) specified that the increase agreed unanimously at Conasami is a sign that the business sector is committed to our collaborators and to the country.
“Despite the difficult circumstances and the challenges that we have had to overcome due to the ravages of the pandemic and the increases in costs, our goal of recovering the purchasing power of the general minimum wage remains,” said the employer sector.
For this reason, he considered that Coparmex’s goal is to reach the family welfare line in 2026. According to the Inegi, in an average family there are about 4 people and 2 of them work. “We want to achieve that, with the minimum salary of these two people, the whole family can have access to the food basket and not food. This will allow families to meet their food needs but also have basic transportation, housing, education and clothing conditions, ”he said.
