Aerolíneas Argentinas inaugurates the Buenos Aires-Villa de Merlo route

Aerolíneas Argentinas inaugurates this Thursday the first flight of the Buenos Aires-Villa de Merlo route that will arrive at the Valle de Conlara International Airport, 18 kilometers from that tourist town of San Luis, with two weekly frequencies, local authorities reported.

This will be the first time that a regular flight from the flag airline will arrive at Villa de Merlo, considered the epicenter of tourism in San Luis, in order to achieve better connectivity with the province and the region.

The flights will take place on Thursdays arriving at noon and Sunday afternoons.

The Secretary of Transportation of San Luis, Sebastián Ansulovichhighlighted the opportunity to have regular flights from Aerolíneas Argentina as a “fundamental factor” for the growth of tourism in the region.

The Valle de Conlara International Airport will become part of the National Airport System

“It is a very important achievement to be able to reach this agreement and have this route, since historically it was a recurring demand from the entire tourism sector in the area, with an influx that has been growing year after year,” said the official.

Furthermore, he added that the The airport was put in conditions according to current regulations, and the necessary equipment was added to carry out check-in and carry out the security scan.

On the other hand, through Decree 796/2022 of the National Executive Power published this Wednesday in the Official Gazette, the Valle de Conlara International Airport will become part of the National Airport System.

In this way, the airport will begin to be regulated by ORNSA, the body in charge of regulating, controlling and supervising the infrastructures and services of all the air stations in Argentina, while the administration will continue to belong to the government of San Luis through the Entity of Aeronautical Development.
